Not just an “Art Camp”
At Dottie Doodles Camp, we expose kids to artists of all kinds, in hopes to show them that “art” is all around us. From the food we eat and the way we grow it, the characters in toy and game design, homes and architectural designs, our furniture, our electronics and the engineering behind it’s design, the clothes we wear, and so on! There is nothing in this world that art and design isn’t a part of, and our guests let the kids see and experience things they aren’t typically exposed to or able to experiment with, and open their eyes to things they may not know they were even interested in before.
In our camps, we’ve hosted tattoo artists, abstract body paint artists, balloon artists, muralists, bee keepers, cake decorators and more! The concepts behind the camps we host are to become a foundation that enables young people to be unafraid. For them to experiment and learn early on, of how to expand on the things that interest them most. We also want children to learn and understand from our camps and guests; that when we do things in life that we love, the universe responds. Thus, possibilities and doors will open. Nothing is unattainable.
Our campers make a difference.
Each year in our annual camps, we team up with Bizzy Bee Hives owner, Jesse Holland. The kids learn about all of the inner workings of bees and their life and direct impact on our lives and world. We learn how to protect them and create space for them. This year, Jesse donated 5 bee hive boxes for the kids to make a beautiful home for our bee friends!
